Over the past five years, Bengaluru’s growth in Global Capability Centers (GCCs) has lagged behind the rest of the country. While India as a whole saw a remarkable increase in the number of GCCs, Bengaluru’s expansion was more measured. Sangeeta Gupta, Chief Strategy Officer at Nasscom, explained that the city already houses the largest concentration of GCCs, many of which have reached maturity. This, she suggested, has led several companies to look beyond Bengaluru, choosing to establish their second or even third centers in smaller cities where new opportunities are emerging.
